Thank you to everyone for your kindness in welcoming me as the Interim Principal. I feel so fortunate and lucky to have landed in this wonderful school. If you need anything, or just want to drop by for coffee, please feel free to do so.
Last Friday was a horrible day for our schools and our nation. I have decided not to address the Connecticut School Shootings in a public manner at school. To have a regular day for the students is our goal; individual classes may be discussing the issue but I decided not to address it publicly. Fairhope Police are around the school and more visible in our community. Last week, prior to the Conn incident, we reviewed our Lockdown procedures, and, unfortunately, I didn't notify everyone we were conducting a drill. That is a mistake that will be remedied in the future. I hope we did not cause you any undue worry in my oversight.
I hope you made it to the Drama Club's production of "Frankenstein" this past weekend. What an amazing job our students did performing this challenging musical. Mrs. Denton and her crew are to be commended for an outstanding performance.
Fairhope High School is doing amazing things in our classrooms. The 1-to1 computers are a blessing, but please review proper conduct and usage with your student. We have had some issues crop up lately with decision-making with the technology. We want our students to always make wise decisions and use good judgment.
The Christmas Holiday is splitting up our 1st semester, and exams will be given shortly after our return. Please be sure to talk with your child about reviewing class content over the break. The End of Course Tests and Semester Exams are very important, so please stay on your kids about studying and reviewing.
